Zeigler's Italian BLT Sandwich

1 (16 ounce) Crusty Italian bread loaf

1/2 cup Italian dressing

1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup mustard

1 (12 ounce) pkg. Thick sliced Zeigler Original Bologna, cut in half and browned

6 (1 ounce) provolone cheese slices

Romaine lettuce leaves

3 medium tomatoes, sliced

1 (12 ounce) pkg. Zeigler Premium Bacon, cooked

Garnish:  Pimento-stuffed green olives

 

Cut whole loaf Italian bread horizontally, cut loaf diagonally into 6 large slices; arrange on a baking sheet.  Brush all slices evenly with Italian dressing, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.  Place under broiler on high until cheese is melted and bread lightly toasted.

Stir together mayonnaise and mustard;  spread cheese toasted sides of bread evenly with mayonnaise mixture.

Layer 6 bread slices, in the following order:  lettuce, tomato, cheese, bologna, and bacon strips.  Then top with remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down.  Secure with wooden picks.  Garnish with olives, if desired.

Yield:  Makes 6 servings.
